Well-known artist, KRS-One, has promoted and created partnership with Beast 1333. As many confuse him as a demonic rapper, Beast 1333 debunks allegation with his "Reverse Symbolism" philosophy.

WRTE: Why the name Beast1333? Most notably, the number 1333.
Beast1333: The name "Beast", was given to me by my Teacha and mentor KRS One. My little Brother Chi Chi a.k.a. "DJ Bacan Mega 97.9 NYC", was DJing for KRS at the time and he would come over my brothers studio to record tracks like "KRS One Rider part 2 Freestyle, The Million DJ March, What If feat. Grandmaster Flash, Rent feat. Black Skeptik, Change feat. Beast1333, All City Kings Feat. Beast1333, Over standing feat Beast1333, Jam On it Feat. Beast1333". My brother knew a beatboxing barber by the name of El-Ay-S who was giving KRS One's son Lil Kris a haircut, he found out that the Teacha needed a Dj for some upcoming shows and the Rest was History. My Brother toured first and rocked out with KRS as his DJ, when they came home the Teacha would come over to record, and that's when I introduced myself. I went by the name of "Phase Oner" it was my Bombing Tag and original name. I showed him (KRS) a song called "Mouth of Madness", all He said after listening was "Beast,Beast,Beast, your a Beast", the name stuck. 1333 came later after i came home from KRS's "Stop the Violence Tour 2008", Ever since i could remember the Numbers 13 and 33 where everywhere, As a child i had the habit of adding up any numbers i came across. It was like my mind was always trying to keep busy. Every where i was, i would see 13 33. As i got older it got worse I found out that there was a mistake on my Birth Certificate, the Certificate says i was born January 14, 1982, but its a Misprint my real Birth day is January 13, 1982. The First 3 digits of my Social Security are 157, add 1+5+7=13, the second digits are 76, 7+6=13, and the third set i wont give out for privacy purposes but they equal to 13 as well. They where many other circumstances where the numbers would "follow" me, for example, my Boys & Girls club football jersey was 33 and the basketball jersey 13. My address when i was born was 113, my Grandfather was born in 1933, lost my virginity 13, probation building in hackensack NJ 133, the list goes on and on. When i was a teen i finally decided to do some research on the numbers to see if they had any significance, what i discovered changed me forever. Here are a couple of examples of what i found: "From Classical antiquity, the number thirteen has been regarded as unlucky. During a procession, Philip of Macedon set his own statue among those of the twelve great Olympian gods and was assassinated shortly afterward in the theater.
Thirteen persons, Christ and his apostles, celebrated the Last Supper. The Kabbalah lists thirteen spirits of evil. The thirteenth chapter of the Book of Revelation is that describing Anti-Christ and the Beast.
And yet, in Classical antiquity, the thirteenth member of a group was regarded as the most powerful and the most exalted. Such is true of Zeus among the twelve Olympians, among whom he sits or whom he leads, making a thirteenth who, according to Plato and to Ovid, is distinguished by his higher standing from the rest. Odysseus was the thirteenth member of his crew and escaped being eaten by the Cyclops.
In Allendy's system of numerological symbolism, 'this number stands for a principle of activity, three operating within the unity of the complete decade which contains it' and which consequently restricts its range. Thirteen would correspond to an organized and dynamic system, but one which was predetermined and particular rather than universal. Schwaller , too, interprets it as ' a generative force for good or ill'. Through its static (the group of ten) and its dynamic (the group of three) limitations, thirteen displays development doomed to death, the culmination of a power, since the latter is itself restricted, 'regularly thwarted effort'. Generally speaking, thirteen, as an eccentric, marginal and erratic element, is separated from the normal order and rhythm of the universe.
From the cosmic point of view, thirteen's undertakings are generally bad, since the activities of the creature can only be blind and inadequate for they do not harmonize with the laws of the universe. They may serve for individual development, but they disturb the government of the macrocosm and trouble its rest. They are a unity shaking the balance of the different interconnections in the universe (12+1).
In ancient Mexican astronomy, calendars and theology, thirteen was a basic sacred number. In the Popol-Vuh, there are 'thirteen gods' and 'the thirteen-god'; there are twelve stars and the Sun at its zenith; while the twelve rain-gods are personifications of the thirteenth who is also the first, or great sky-god.
The Aztecs considered thirteen to be the number of time itself, the figure which stood for the completion of a temporal series. It was associated with the figure fifty-two, the Aztec age (13x4), the 'bond of the years' during the course of each of the Aztec 'Suns'. The first and fourth of these Suns each lasted for 676 years and were the most perfect since they comprised these two numbers only - 13x52=676.
An Aztec week, too, lasted thirteen days.
The thirteenth major arcanum in the Tarot, Death, does not mean and end, but a fresh start after the completion of a cycle - 13= 12=1-and to this, generally speaking, the number would correspond. It does , however, carry with it the pejorative hint of being less a completely fresh birth than starting the same thing all over again. It would, for example, stand for Sisyphus' unceasing efforts to roll the rock to the top of the hill or cask which the Danaids would never fill the brim".
And many, many other examples of these numbers throughout the ages, to many to list in fact.
I discovered that the numbers where a "force", that they had an energy signature of their own. To this day i do not know why these numbers appear to me but i have a "feeling" that they guide me and protect me apart from their symbolic significance. I know that they have been regarded as unlucky by some, but they empower and lead me to a higher Overstanding of Reality in this Plane. I find difficult to explain what i "feel" coming from these numbers, i am hindered by the amount of words in the English Language, i cannot properly put into words what i sense they are here for. I believe that i am deeply connected with the Numerical 1333.
Any negativity from them is banished and bounces back into the ether, as i proclaim their use through my "Reverse Symbolism", Philosophy.
In a sense i am harnessing the energy from them, empowering every cell in my body while focusing on spreading my music/message/prophecy through the medium of the most Beloved Spirit "Hip Hop".
When i came home from touring my music became more conscious and in a flash one day it came to me like a whisper in my head "1333,1333,1333", i am Beast1333.
WRTE: Bestial and demonic imagery is used among your artwork, do many fans confuse you for a Satanic/demonic rapper? Why do you incorporate such artwork style and theme?
Beast1333: Yes, many people do mistake me for a Satanic/Demonic rapper because of my use of bestial imagery and esoteric symbolism. That seems to be the trend amongst new listeners of my music, however, After you listen to my body of work you realize why i use them. Its all "Reverse Symbolism", I harness their energies and "reverse Polarities" in a sense by adopting them as my own, the images are sometimes shocking and help bring awareness to the topics that i am most passionate about.
The Numbers 13 and 33 in red in particular seem to have the most effect.
Beast1333: Knowledge is my message. Knowledge is awareness. Knowledge of what is really happening in this dimension. I hope that after listening to my music , the listener leaves with more knowledge than they came in with. Hopefully they absorb my tracks as little musical life lessons, instead of just dismissing them as hot tracks. My fans are more than fans they are the Enlightened on the road to Mental Paradise.
WRTE: What is the Templars of Hip Hop, the Resistance Movement, and Disciples of Beast1333? How can one become affiliated with those groups and/or find further information on them?
Beast1333: I started as a student of my Teacha KRS One in his Temple of Hip Hop, when my studies finished under the Temple and i came home, i took what i learned and integrated my own Philosophies and founded the "Templars of Hip Hop", named templars for our understanding and dissemination of Secret Knowledge through Hip Hop Music. To be a "Templar" you would have to be approved by the "Source"me. To be a Templar, you would have to have some part in the creation of our Music. Whether it be as an emcee on a track with me, or as a producer/engineer/beat maker, or be a distinguished member of the Disciples who has inspired me or influenced my music in some way, shape or form. The Templars of Hip Hop is also the name our Record Label.
The Resistance Movement- I Beast1333 have started this movement to focus on preserving our rights and upholding the Constitution of the United States.
I am dedicated to educating those who have a desire to understand the New World Order and how members of secret societies control the true power in politics, banking, media, and religious institutions around the world.
To be a member of the Resistance all you have to do is spread "Truth" and "Knowledge" to all sheeple around you. There is Protocol and Hierarchy as a member of the Resistance. for more information visit Our Recruitment pages on Myspace - myspace.com/rr1333 or http://www.beast1333.com
The "Disciples of Beast1333" are an elite group chosen from the flock of the Resistance who are interested in being more involved than the others, My Disciples are encouraged to master a Hip Hop element for example emceeing, graffing, DJing, beatboxing, breaking and are expected to show signs of improvement as time progresses. They are also expected to show face at shows whenever i am in their city and help out with the show. Some disciples tour with me and learn how to live as a Hiphoppa, And learn to be Heralds of Truth. My hopes for the disciples are that they stand on my shoulders after i am gone, and keep our movement and message going. To become a disciple you must first rise in the Hierarchy of the Resistance. There are exceptions of course for the Gifted.
WRTE: What is your relation with KRS-One in regards to your music?
Beast1333: KRS One is my Teacha and My mentor, i was homeless when i met up with him at my brothers studio, he took me in as a Templist in his Temple of Hip Hop organization. Shortly after he moved me into his home where i lived with him and studied under him. After my studies i toured the country with the Teacha on the Stop the Violence Tour 2008. He taught me everything i know about Booking a show, Sound Check, Stage presence, Road Life, Delivery, Freestyles, he helped me master my gift, he saw something in me a, rough diamond, and cut me and made me shiny and lustrous, he supported my Truth Movement music when everyone else scoffed, I am indebted to him and forever grateful. If it was not for KRS One i would have never evolved into Beast1333. He is like a father to me. He is Hip Hop Incarnate.
WRTE: Mark of the Beast is a mixtape that leaked on the Internet months prior to your debut album and created a great buzz among the underground online community. What was the driving force behind creating that mixtape?
Beast1333: The mixtape wasn't even one as such. When I came home from touring i felt re-energized and ready to show the world what i had to offer. I started writing nonstop and refining my flow and delivery daily. Before i knew it i had like 40 something songs, I named the body of work, "Mark of the Beast" the mixtape. The songs got out on the Internet and my talent spoke for itself, in a matter of weeks my buzz was huge in the underground Hip Hop scene and has kept escalating ever since. When i got home nothing had changed i was still poor i still had to feed my kids i was still in poverty and all i had was this ability to rhyme. I took the inspiration from touring, i took the inspiration from suffering and let it all out on paper. I was tired of listening to commercialized Hip Hop.
I was yearning to show the new generation how it is truly done and i also was inspired by the lack of Hip Hop out with substance or message. I felt there was a void when it came to Truth- Message Hip Hop. Slowly my songs went from being street to Conscious as i evolved in Beast1333.
WRTE: Your beats all sound original. Who takes credits for the production?
Beast1333: Reinol of the Templars of Hip Hop , deserves all the credit for beats there are only like 7 or 8 beats in my portfolio of music that aren't his.
He has been there since day one. I knew him from around the way and always knew he made beats. One day he hit me with a cd and the rest was written in stone as they say ,he has been making them custom just for me ever since. Reinol is an original member of the Templars of Hip Hop and like a brother to me.
Also King Solomon of the Templars of Hip Hop is the new addition to the production family. He has made beats for Immortal Technique, Tragedy & Khadafi and many others. King Solomon is a very talented unique individual and very close to the "Source".
WRTE: According to your Twitter account, Birth of The Beast sold more than 10,000 independent digital copies since its release on Halloween 2009, congratulations! Can you explain the concept of Birth of The Beast album?
Beast1333: Thank You, the "Birth of the Beast" album was my introduction to the world. It was my "Birth" into Hip Hop. When i approach an album i try to make them like little movies. If you listen to the skits they all tie in and give that "horror" movie like feel to the cd. My next cd Entitled "Space Age Slaves" will have a "Sci-fi" movie feel to it. The one after that is untitled as of yet and will have an "action" movie feel to it. All the meanwhile maintaining the same level of skill and Truth. I want the listener to feel like they went to go see a movie after hearing my work not just feel like they heard a dope cd.
WRTE: How is Birth of The Beast being distributed? Any major label contracts in the works?
Beast1333: There is nothing in the works as of yet. I am still 100% independent. I am distributed by Tunecore on Itunes and Amazon. You can also get the digital download through the "Bandbox Widget" at myspace or Beast1333.com
WRTE: Many consider you as a Myspace or cyber underground rapper. How would you describe your role in the Hip-Hop community?
Beast1333: When i was teenager rappers still counted on labels for distribution and marketing but we are now living in different times. I have learned that i could do everything the labels could do on my own utilizing the Internet. You can label me a Myspace or Cyber rapper if you wish, I prefer Hip Hop Emcee. I launched my career in the digital domain, digital music eventually gets burned on a cd or thrown on an ipod and leaves cyber space, above every label people give me... i am 1 thing...a true Hiphoppa. The internet is just one of my many tools. And i am Proud to have been introduced by utilizing the medium.
WRTE: What or who influences you the most in creating your music?
Beast1333: My biggest Influence is Reality. All i have to do is Live. My music is a manifestation of my Life, and what i go through, what i think about, what i write about. Being Alive on this planet with 6 Billion others is my biggest influence
WRTE: Who are your top 5 favorite artists and why?
Beast1333: Big Pun ( Made me feel like Hispanics had a place in Hip Hop, Made me proud to be a latino emcee)
Wu-Tang Clan ( I was a Wu Kid and subconsciously absorbed rhyming patterns from them all )
KRS One ( for being the dopest live emcee in Hip Hop History and teaching me everything i know)
Nas ( for being the embodiment of a true Hiphoppa)
Dj Tony Touch ( for being so versatile he could DJ, spit and also made me proud of my Puertorican Heritage)
WRTE: Rumors have spread about possible collaborations with other rappers. Can you confirm which rappers might we hear you collaborate with?
Beast1333: You will have to wait and see.
WRTE: Also, many fans have asked whether there is a feud with Immortal Technique and/or Canibus due to YouTube and Myspace unpleasant comments. What can you tell us in regards to that?
Beast1333: I dont have a feud with either. I spoke to Immortal Technique on the phone about the rumors. They have no substance.
