Engineer is a Canadian Hip Hop producer. His style combines grimy sampled beats that incorporating east coast, west coast, soulful, smooth, emotional, and dark approaches.

HHUG: How long have you been in crafting beats?
Engineer: Around 11-12 years I think.
HHUG: What inspired you to become a music producer?
Engineer: Music - always been a fan of music, love music, but listening clearly wasn't enough for me.
HHUG: Do you also create instrumentals for other genres besides Hip Hop?
Engineer: I'm currently working on some soundtrack music for a local drama series called "Shattered" that will be aired within the next year or two.
HHUG: You made several beats for Canibus's Melatonin Magik: "Air Strike (Pop Killer)", "Dead By Design" and " Only Slaves D.R.E.A.M." How did you start working with Canibus and how was it in regards to the beats you made for Melatonin Magik?
Engineer: Beats were basically submitted and he liked them, simple as that really.
HHUG: You also entirely produced Diabolic's Liar & A Thief with the exception of "Riot". How did both of you become acquainted? How was working with Diabolic on his debut album?
Engineer: I've known 'Bolic for years really, he used to hate me because I leaked "Truth Part. 1" and I had no idea really that he was planning on putting it on his debut album. But I think he randomly hit me up one day for some beats and then it turned more into a "working together" type thing for a few years or more even. I executive produced that whole album and it's a great fuckin' album by a great fuckin' artist, my word. I just wish it didn't take so long to come out, there was A LOT of complications.
HHUG: Do you plan to continue working with Canibus and Diabolic?
Engineer: Definitely will be a part of 'Bolic's next album. As for Canibus I'd love to.
HHUG: Any other notable artists you have produced for?
Engineer: Yeah man. I've got a lot of shit coming up that people won't be use to. All the beats I've done on Canibus and 'Bolic's albums were more on the dark/underground side. I mostly make more soulful/ up-beat shit so it might be shocking to some current fans when some of the projects I've been submitting beats to come out. But shit that's already official I'll drop some names:

I could go on I'm kind of just forgetful and hungover right now.
HHUG: Who are your top 5 favorite music producers and why?
Engineer:
1. Just Blaze (no need for explaining he has made some of my favorite beats of all time)
2. Kanye Eest (same reason as stated above)
3. DJ Premier (king of the chop)
4. Nottz (soooooo underrated. has made some of my favorite beats including the game - one night and scarface - can't get right)
5. I can't pick anyone for five because there is so many producers I feel like an ass for leaving out - Alchemist, Pete Rock, Mannie Fresh, Justice League, etc.
HHUG: What upcoming projects do you have in store for the future?
